Description: White or micro yellow crystal powder without or with little fetid odor, L-type has slightly bitter taste, for DL-type and D-type, sweety. It slightly dissolves in water ,doesnĄ¯t dissolve in ethyl alcohol and decomposes under 289℃. It dissolves in diluted acid or thin alkali and will be colored with long time illumilation. It can product little indole if heating together with water, massive indole, with sodium hydroxide and cupric sulfate. Heating together with acid in hidden place is stable and being extremely easy to decompose when heating together with other amino acids, carbohydrate and aldehyde class.
